Mr. & Mrs. John Sulau
This past Saturday, I had the amazing privilege of photographing Natalie and John’s wedding. They were married at the top of Glassy Mountain and I was so concerned about what the weather would do. I shouldn’t have given it a second thought though because NOTHING could take away from this day. Natalie was calm and happy, the entire day. Even in the hail storm on the way to the reception, (longest hail storm I’ve EVER seen) she never lost her cool or seemed bothered by anything. This is exactly the kind of bride I adore. She knew that the most important thing was that she was marrying her best friend. The rest, were just details. Details that were perfectly carried out by Christine and her staff at Christine Faust Events. The flowers, by Adina at Frilly Bloomers, were perfect. And I got to work with my favorite, Jeff Bradt, videographer extraordinaire. Katie Cotton, whom I adore, was there for makeup and hair and did an amazing job, as always. So, I guess you could say that this was kind of a dream team wedding for me. And to have a bride and groom who were so gracious throughout the entire day, made the whole process simply perfect. Larkins on the River was amazing as always! And Danielle, we survived the storm and I couldn’t have done this wedding without you. Thank you to all of these amazing vendors!
I knew from my first meeting with Natalie that we would be friends. It’s funny how that’s becoming more and more the way I feel about all of my brides. Being a part of someone’s wedding is so much more than just snapping some pictures. This is a big deal to me. I’m reminded every time I have an amazing wedding how blessed I am to do what I love for a living. And let me say again that it’s not about me. Your wedding day should be about you and yours. I’m just there to capture it all so that you can look back in ten or twenty years and remember how it all started.
Natalie and John, thank you from the bottom of my heart, for trusting me with your wedding day. I am so happy I got to be there to watch you promise your lives to each other. Much love!!
